How to configure the CMS-Bridge
From EQdkp Plus Wiki
Requirements
- Must be logged into website, and must have Administrator access, to gain access to area needed to modify CMS-bridge.
- This will take around 5-10 minutes to complete if you know what you are doing.
General
Once you bridge successfully a user will login and register through your forums. This system will allow for same logins and same passwords between both the forum and EQDKPlus system. This is also an automatic process once this is configured as long as its configured correct.
Getting Started
Once you login select
Up on the top, There is a TAB called "CMS-BRIDGE".
The next steps are for the actual setup and configuration of this system.
Configuration
- FORUM URL : Type in your forum path, as you would use if you typed into Firefox. Ex.(yourdomain.com/forum)
- FORUMS/REGISTRATION URL : This would be the path to your registration page, this varies from the forum system you use.
- ACTIVATE BRIDGING TO A CMS < You would need this checked, this will enable the bridging between the systems.
- DEACTIVATE REGISTERING IN EQDKPLUS < You need to check this if you would like users to register on the cms/ forum system, this is recommended.
- DEACTIVATE THE USER REGISTRATION < Use this if you do not want users to register on the system at all.
- SUPPORTED CMS < Currently supported CMS/FORUM systems, Currently Supported CMS/Forums
- TABLE PREFIX OF YOUR CMS INSTALLATION < this would be your prefix_datatable in mysql (used when you created database)
- GROUP ID OF CMS GROUP <Depending on what system you are using this would vary, If you want to enable all groups on your forums to login to the main page, you can simply put in 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 this will allow the groups 0 thru 7 to gain access to the EQDKPlus. Keep in mine what security and such you setup on the forum/cms system will not carry to the EQDKPlus.
- IS THE FORUM/CMS ON ANOTHER DATABASE OTHER THAN EQDKP << If you are advanced and have the user database feeding in one database in EQDKPlus, you do not need this checked, for the average user you will need to check this as your database is typically on another database.
- DATABASE NAME > This would be your database name for your CMS/FORUM database
- HOSTNAME > This is your server name / path / location for MYSQL, typically localhost
- DATABASE USER > This would be your database username for your CMS/FORUM database
- DABASE PASSWORD > This is your database password
I will be adding more to this bridging topic, the group IDS vary from what system you are using.
